02/25/2007 - Tampa, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Tampa Bay acquired defenseman Shane O'Brien and a third-round pick in 2007 from the Anaheim Ducks for goaltender Gerald Coleman and a 2007 first-round draft pick on Saturday.

O'Brien has appeared in 62 games this season, his first in the NHL, and notched two goals along with 12 assists and 140 penalty minutes. He was drafted by Anaheim in 2003, and played for Portland in the AHL last season.

"Shane O'Brien is a big, young, mobile, physical defenseman who makes a strong first pass out of the zone and is not afraid to jump in and join the rush," said Tampa Bay vice president and general manager Jay Feaster."We believe he will thrive within our system and will develop into a top four defenseman.

The 21-year-old Coleman has a 2-1-0 record in three games with Springfield of the AHL, compiling a 2.01 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage this season.
